Collection of Panels & Ornaments

If you have a chance to study the images on this CD, you will see that many of the complex shapes and panels are really just simple elements combined. You can pull elements off one panel and add it to another. You can start with the simple ornaments and shapes and build your own shapes, too.

Our intention was to give you a wide variety of building blocks on this CD along with a vast quantity of ready to go panels. If you know how to use the editing tools within your software, you can also slice up the pre-built panels to make them longer, shorter, wider or taller.

When we built the image above for the CD, we wanted to show how some of the most simple elements can be combined to form a pleasing shape. As you can see, there are only four or five original ornaments used here. We find it helpful to start with center lines and guidelines. By doing so, we usually only have to build half of the image. Notice that the rule inside the oval was repeated twice in the lower left hand corner of the design. Once those two rules were created, we copied both of them and flipped a copy over the vertical center line. Then we selected all four of the small rule sections, and flipped a copy of them over the horizontal center line in the “OFFICE” section. That horizontal center line was also useful when centering the small floral crests at the end of the panel. As it turns out, the two small elements in front of and behind the “LAWYER” text were borrowed from the top of some other ornament in the collection. Once you start working with the shapes, panels and smaller elements, we feel you will realize almost infinite possibilities.
