William Stevenson advertised in the Jackson’s Hole Courier in 1916 and 1917. While the rest of the Jackson’s Hole tourists would still have to tour the valley in wagons, carriages, and stage coaches, this new commercial venture was one of the first to offer it in state of the art style. His 1915 Buick seven passenger touring car would take you “to all parts of Jackson’s Hole”. Best of all—it was cheaper than a team hire!

The letters and ornamental border on this piece were carefully glue-chipped, then gilded with 23k gold. This set also uses matte pale gold and 23k gold for some of the intricate border and inner detailing. The rich red panel behind the main lettering was applied with a transparent glaze and backed up with varigated leaf for a subtle molted background. An outline and shade appear around the main lettering as you catch a little reflection through the glaze. The blended background sets off the beautiful color scheme.

The Auto Livery edition is exactly the same size as Canyon Road House and makes use of the same frame. They make a stunning pair!
