History & Notes:
The images in this collection were inspired by sign sketches made by Sam Kamin in the early 1920's. We have modified quite a few, added quite a few and enhanced most of his rough sketches for this disk. As the Art Nouveau period was winding down, and for a period of time before the Art Deco era, many signs were simplified from their earlier looks.
Craftsman Period designs started appearing around this time, too, often with simplified organic elements such as flowers and leaves. We have included a few of those pieces in this collection, and have embedded them in quite a few panels.
This period also marked the beginnings of the electric sign industry, and we have included quite a few of the wonderful marquee style designs as you see to the right. In fact, these designs inspired the name of this collection. Many of the images include the small round dots, and you can easily add your own to others as needed. There are numerous vertical format layouts in the collection, commonly found projecting from the large brick buildings in the big cities.

Many of the images in this collection were inspired by drawings by Sam Kamin in the early 1920's, like the Coffee Shop sign to the right. Many have a Broadway theater feel, while the bulk are just nice designs and panels. You will have a blast designing with them!

Don't be misled by the few photos on this page! This collection is very flexible, with design elements that can be used to fill needs in a variety of historical time periods. Click Here to view some colorized examples of designs from The Broadway Collection.
