Collection of Panels and Ornaments

In the examples below, we have colorized a few images from the collection. After seeing some of these web images created from the black and white images on the CD, you should start getting an idea of their potential!

Telegraph Office:
There are many distinctive ribbons in the Americana Collection of Panels and Ornaments. This design uses a ribbon, a ribbon and an ornament direct from the CD. To see how we insterted the text into the flowing ribbon, click here. The honey comb texture in this design was created using the "stained glass" texture filter.
South Cache Cigar Shop:
This example has the appearance of marble. Depending on the light source angle, the elements can appear routed "in" or "raised". For this web image, we used Eye Candy 4000's "marble" filter, along with "inner bevel" and "outer bevel". An actual sign could be routed, sandblasted, or carved, not to mention special effects using vinyl and paint.
Main Street Deli:
We made this example for the Americana Tips and Techniques page, using two shapes from the CD. Click here to how we made the core elements.

The lettering in this design was created using Promontory and Promontory Swash, included with the Americana Collection. Click here to see a much larger image.

The Copper Kettle:
The base panel for this design is available for a free download. We used Letterhead Fonts Pilsner for "The" and their New Modern Classic for "Copper Kettle". The Americana Collection is loaded with beautiful panels and shapes.

This cute, but basic little panel was created by adapting and simplifying another panel in the collection. We threw in some colors and a blend to give it some punch!

Fine Cigars:
Using a shape from the Americana CD and a couple of fonts from Letterheadfonts.com, we created a simple label or sign design. For this web image, I created a texture that imitates the texture you might achieve with an ocean sponge, dipped in paint and dabbed on a panel. Imagine this sort of design as a reverse glass image on a door or window in 23k gold!
Black Ornaments:
Wow! If you are designing web pages, how can you pass up this collection! The examples you see on this page were created by opening the AI version of the file directly into Adobe Photoshop. The images were then colorized and special effects were added. Just for fun, we opened a few very basic shapes and applied the "inner bevel" effect from a Photoshop Eye Candy filter. Simple and beautiful!

Quite a few of our examples have been fully colorized. For this example, I went back to the process used on the embossed elements above to produce this simple, elegant design. It appears to have been etched in glass.

We've included a couple of repeating wire mesh elements in this collection which will allow you to create panels similar to the one here. You will have to learn your software fairly well to use this feature, but the pieces are there!

There are several pre-built panels in the Americana Collection which already have the wire mesh background. The panel on the left is one of them (black and white with no lettering).
